Is your home a safe haven or toxic health hazard?
Most of us strive to create clean, safe and welcoming homes for ourselves, family, friends and pets. Few would intentionally spray harmful chemicals in the home, or bathe our children with toxic products. Yet the sad and frightening news is if you use the most common brand-name household cleaners and personal care items, there is a really good chance that is exactly what you are doing. As you will read, it is disillusioning and tragic that this is allowed to happen to trusting people. The good news is, however, that once made aware of the problems, there are now easily available and affordable alternatives that allow you to create both an attractive, healthy, and clean home and body.
Why should you care about household toxins?
Simple. Because your greatest exposure to toxic substances is right in your home, and every toxic product used at home ultimately ends up in the environment, from which it can return to harm us. Your house or apartment probably is full of everyday products made from materials and substances that cause cancer, birth defects, changes in genetic structure and that weaken the immune system, leaving your body vulnerable to many kinds of diseases and infections. A multitude of common symptoms can be related to exposure to household toxics – headaches, depression, even ordinary flu-like symptoms may not be flu at all, but rather a reaction to your furniture polish. Unfortunately, many of our trusted name-brand cleaning or personal care products are big culprits. And the quality of our in-home water and air typically takes its toll on our bodies, our vitality and our peace of mind. There are simple steps you can take to create that safe haven or true wellness home.
If you use any of the following, (and this list is by no means exhaustive) chances are good that you creating constant challenges to your physical and mental integrity.
